Are you a Witch on a Budget or in the Closet?

Are you a Witch on a Budget or in the Closet?

Are you a busy modern witch trying to juggle spells and potions with your hectic schedule? Here are some ideas to help bring magick into your busy life on a budget.

Who says you need expensive ingredients to cast a spell? Budget $2 store candles and even leftover birthday cake candles can work just as well. Just remember that white candles can replace any other colour. It's all about the intention behind the magic, not the price tag. I love heading to the budget shops as they usually have spell paper and awesome spell jars too. At my local store I have even sourced seeds for my witches' garden. Go explore and be open to working outside the box. You will probably meet some fellow witches in the crafting section!

Many spiritual shops sell herbs and spices for spell casting. I go to my local supermarket and buy my Bay leaves and other spell ingredients there. Have you been to your local Asian supermarket lately? I find my tea quality rose buds and jasmine flowers for less than half the price.

Short on time but still want to work your magic? A simple protection charm or a quick manifestation ritual can be just as effective as a lengthy ceremony. I stir my intentions anti-clockwise (for Southern Hemisphere witches) into my morning coffee (along with a sprinkle of cinnamon and nutmeg for luck and prosperity) and do a quick evening cleanse with some incense and a walk around the home. When cleaning surfaces I wipe some magical herbs in my spray bottle as part of the cleaning process and I even add a few drops of a magickal essential oil to the filter of my vacuum. This is also a great way to practise the craft while in "closet"!

Remember to prioritize self-care in your magical practice. Take time to recharge, rest, and rejuvenate. A warm bath with candles, crystals, magick bath salts and a good witchy book is another way to embed your witchy ways.

Don't stress about having an Instagram-worthy altar. My desk and art space acts as my altar. A small space with a few meaningful items is all you need to create space for your practice. Remember, it's the energy you bring to it that matters most.

Blessed Be!
